Sitting for long gaming sessions takes a toll on your back, hips, and legs, and most standard office chairs simply weren’t built for marathon play. A gaming chair with a built-in footrest lets you fully recline, kick your legs up, and keep your circulation moving without leaving your setup — but not every footrest chair is sturdy, comfortable, or built to last.
This guide breaks down what actually matters when shopping for a gaming chair with a footrest, then reviews five top-rated options so you can find the right fit for your body type, budget, and gaming habits.

Watch: Best Gaming Chair With Footrest — Video Review
How to Choose a Gaming Chair With Footrest
- Footrest Design: Look for a pull-out or flip-up footrest that locks securely in place and retracts smoothly without wobbling under weight.
- Weight Capacity and Frame: Check the chair’s rated weight limit and steel frame construction, especially if you need a big and tall option for larger body types.
- Lumbar and Recline Support: Adjustable or massage lumbar cushions paired with a reclining backrest (130°-180°) reduce lower back strain during long sessions.
- Material and Breathability: PU leather is easy to clean but can trap heat, while breathable fabric or perforated leather stays cooler for extended use.
- Adjustability: Prioritize height-adjustable gas lifts, 360° swivel, and armrests (linkage or adjustable) so the chair fits your desk and body properly.
The Best Gaming Chair With Footrests Reviewed
GTPLAYER Gaming Chair with Footrest and Lumbar Support
The GTPLAYER Gaming Chair balances comfort and value with a padded headrest, adjustable lumbar support, and a smooth 360° swivel base. Its pull-out footrest and height-adjustable design make it a solid all-rounder for both gaming and office use.
DL-win Gaming Chair for Adults, Big and Tall
Built for larger frames, the DL-win Gaming Chair offers a high back, massage lumbar support, and a reinforced 360° swivel base that holds up under extra weight. The footrest extends easily, making it a practical pick for taller or heavier gamers who need more room.
Desk Computer Gaming Chair with Pocket Spring Cushion
This high-back ergonomic chair stands out for its pocket spring cushion, which delivers noticeably better long-term comfort than standard foam padding. The white leather finish and integrated footrest give it a clean look that works equally well in a home office or gaming room.
Dowinx Gaming Chair with Massage Lumbar Support
The Dowinx Gaming Chair uses breathable PU leather and a pocket spring cushion to stay comfortable through long sessions, while its massage lumbar pillow actively eases lower back tension. The reclining frame and big-and-tall sizing make it a favorite for adults and teens alike.
Dowinx Big and Tall Office Chair with Linkage Armrests
Designed more like an executive chair than a typical racer-style seat, this Dowinx model pairs a pocket spring cushion with linkage armrests that move in sync with the backrest for better ergonomics. The pull-out footrest and high-back support make it a strong choice for gamers who also work long hours at a desk.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are gaming chairs with footrests actually good for your back?
Yes, when they include proper lumbar support and a reclining backrest. The footrest itself mainly improves leg circulation and comfort during recline, but back health depends more on lumbar adjustability and posture support.
Do footrests on gaming chairs break easily?
Pull-out footrests are generally durable if the chair has a reinforced steel frame, but cheaper models with plastic mechanisms can loosen over time. Checking the weight capacity and frame material helps avoid this issue.
What’s the difference between a gaming chair and a big and tall gaming chair?
Big and tall models use reinforced frames, wider seats, and higher weight capacities to support larger body types comfortably, while standard gaming chairs are typically rated for lighter average weights.
Is PU leather or fabric better for a gaming chair?
PU leather is easier to wipe clean and looks more premium, but it can retain heat during long sessions. Breathable fabric or perforated leather options tend to stay cooler, which matters more if you game for hours at a time.
Final Thoughts
For most gamers, the GTPLAYER Gaming Chair offers the best balance of comfort, adjustability, and price. If you need extra room and durability, the DL-win Gaming Chair for Adults is a strong big-and-tall pick, while the Dowinx Gaming Chair with Massage Lumbar Support stands out for those who want targeted back relief during marathon sessions.
