Tips and gear advice are only useful if you can trust where they came from. Here are the rules Geek Gaming Tricks follows for every article, from a quick controller fix to a full accessory roundup.

Principles we hold to

  • We decide what gets covered. Topics, product picks and verdicts are chosen by our editorial team. Brands, retailers and affiliate networks have no say in what we write.
  • Brands can’t buy a spot. There are no paid placements, no sponsored rankings and no fee that gets a product into a list or moves it higher.
  • Every number has a source. If we state a polling rate, a battery life figure or a latency measurement, it came from documentation or a published measurement. Unsourced numbers are not published.
  • AI assists, people decide. AI tools help us research, outline and draft. Humans edit every piece and verify every claim, and AI is never used to invent specs or measurement results.
  • Relationships get disclosed. We currently do not accept free samples or review units in exchange for coverage. If we ever receive one, or have any relationship with a company we cover, the article will say so.

What counts as a source

We start with primary sources: manufacturer spec sheets, manuals, firmware notes and official platform support pages. Next come independent measurements from hardware review sites, latency databases and audio measurement databases. Owner reports from verified-purchase reviews and forums help us judge durability and common faults, but we treat a single complaint as an anecdote, not a trend.

When sources disagree, for example two outlets reporting different click latency for the same mouse, we either show both figures with context or leave the number out. We don’t average conflicting data into a figure nobody measured.

Keeping things current

Accessory lines and firmware change often. We review our popular guides on a rolling basis and also act on product refreshes, price changes and reader reports. Every update is dated.
