Design & Build
The MacBook Pro’s machined aluminum unibody remains the benchmark for laptop build quality, offered in Space Black and Silver. The 2026 M5 Pro models come in 14.2-inch and 16.2-inch sizes with stunning Liquid Retina XDR displays, while renewed M4 Max, M4, and M3 Pro machines offer the same premium chassis at lower prices. Every model features a bright mini-LED XDR panel, a comfortable Magic Keyboard, and a generous port array including HDMI and an SD card slot on Pro and Max configs.
Performance
This is where the MacBook Pro justifies its name. The 2026 M5 Pro with an 18-core CPU and 20-core GPU is built for AI and handles heavy video editing, 3D work, and code compilation with ease, backed by up to 64GB of unified memory. The renewed M4 Max model is a rendering powerhouse with a 32-core GPU and 36GB of memory, while the M4 and M3 Pro machines remain excellent for photo editing, development, and everyday pro workflows. All deliver exceptional performance-per-watt and long battery life.

Alternatives to Consider
If you want the newest and most AI-capable machine, the 2026 M5 Pro 14-inch or 16-inch is the pick, with the 64GB config for the most demanding pros. Budget-conscious buyers should watch renewed models: the M4 Max is a rendering bargain, while the renewed M4 and M3 Pro machines offer tremendous value for development and creative work at lower Black Friday prices.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Black Friday a good time to buy a MacBook Pro?
Yes. Retailers offer some of the year’s deepest MacBook Pro discounts around Black Friday, and renewed models see especially strong savings.
Should I get the 14-inch or 16-inch?
Choose the 14-inch for portability or the 16-inch for a larger canvas and slightly stronger sustained performance. Both offer the same excellent XDR display quality.
Are renewed MacBook Pros worth it?
Renewed M3, M4, and M4 Max models deliver excellent performance at lower prices and typically come inspected and warrantied, making them a smart Black Friday value.
How much memory do I need?
24GB suits most pros, while 36GB to 64GB benefits heavy video, 3D, and AI workloads. Since upgrades are pricey, buy enough unified memory at purchase.
Verdict
Black Friday is the ideal moment to invest in a MacBook Pro. The 2026 M5 Pro is our top pick for future-proof AI performance, the renewed M4 Max is the best value for rendering, and the renewed M3 Pro is a smart choice for developers. Decide between new and renewed, buy sufficient memory, and you will own one of the finest pro laptops made.
